Hackers target major Czech banks

Banks revealed that hackers targeted the websites of the Czech central bank and major commercial banks. They block their servers with massive numbers of requests.

The central bank CNB revealed on its Facebook page that the attack "targeted an external web server hosting the www.cnb.cz website."

Hackers attacked Ceska sporitelna owned by Austria's Erste Bank, Komercni banka owned by France's Societe Generale, CSOB and Austria’s Raiffeisenbank.

However, banks said that these attacks causing network overloads did not threaten client accounts or data.

Moreover, the website of the Prague Stock Exchange was affected too.
This week on Monday, hackers targeted several top Czech news websites in the same way.
